Equipment use is free, but users first complete an in-person membership form with a library card in good standing and the required identification and California address evidence. Reserve equipment by calling 213-228-7150 or visiting in person; reservations are not accepted by email. General questions can go to octavialab@lapl.org. An inquiry does not reserve a place, so confirm the actual equipment and session before travelling. Staff assist with setup, maintenance and troubleshooting rather than providing individual instruction throughout a project. Users buy their own materials and bring storage for their files, because computer data is erased between sessions. Visit to understand the space before planning work. This post neither rents equipment nor books a session, and it guarantees no material supply, equipment availability or particular appointment.
