English UC San Diego surplus: public shopping versus auction collection UC San Diego Surplus Sales offers decommissioned or excess university property to the public at 7835 Trade Street, Suite 100, on the building's northeast corner. Ordinary shopping is Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., without an appointment. Auction winners and online purchasers must arrange collection separately. The guidance distinguishes outright purchases, monthly bidding and third-party auctions. Follow the process for the actual item rather than treating an internal university purchasing button as a public checkout. Public sales generally carry sales tax, with separate documentation for eligible resellers. Goods are sold as is and where located, without warranty, and sales are final. Inspect before buying. Successful bidders must remove items within seven days of notification, so confirm transport arrangements first. Call 858-534-2844 or email surplus@ucsd.edu. This guide does not assert that a particular desk or computer is available today or extend university-department payment and delivery arrangements to the public.
